porcelain equilibrium
a poem
there is a porcelain equilibrium
between the numbness, the boredom,
the glimmers of light
and the pangs of suffering
the tip of the knife, the suffering
the great executioner, the suffering
the ecstasy killer, the suffering.
it pulls towards the ground
but somehow a sliver of hope
outweighs it.
the curtain of rain hides the world
from itself
and from the truth that we cause our own suffering
but we don’t know how to stop.
guilt, shame, resentment fester
they waste away like putrid apples
self-perpetuating to infinity
maintaining an equilibrium.
cars driving on the horizon line,
rain-soaked streets,
a cool breeze coming through
the open windows,
the sky a black placeholder
on which to paste your dreams
and watch them drift by, clouds.

"the sky a black placeholder
on which to paste your dreams
and watch them drift by, clouds."
Great ending. Lovely poem.
I felt like lying on the floor and squezing my head with my acheing hands. Knowing there is the darkness, this forboding. Yet, somewhere, perhaps still too distant to make out properly, is a reason to hold fast.. Just for one last time.. Thank you..
